Have you been living by some annoying diet rules to stay fit? Well, guess what half of them are myths. Here's a list of the most popular diet trends, exposed! They are all myths.
- If you eat after 7:00pm or have a midnight snack it will pack on the pounds and sabotage your diet: MYTH, and here is why what time you eat really has no bearing on how much weight you lose. Whether you snack early or always have a midnight snack, the weight loss equation is still the same; if you take in more calories during the day than you burn doing physical activity, you won't lose any weight. So if you burn off more than you eat it doesn't matter what time you are eating at.
- Sugar is the devil: MYTH, and here is why when it comes to sugar intake and reading food labels, you don't need to put all your focus on gram counting. It's the type of sugar you are putting in your body that matters, there is an enormous difference between the sugar in that of a twinkie and in that of a pear. We want more of the natural sugars that is that kind that your body needs. So instead of cutting all sugar out of your diet, focus on reducing your intake of foods that contain high fructose corn syrup and added sugar (junk food people!).
- If you drink tons of water you'll lose weight: MYTH and here is why water does give you the energy you need throughout the day to burn calories and can help suppress your appetite (temporarily), but it does nothing to reduce the body's need to consume food. So rather than chugging h2o all day, just drink enough to keep your energy up to par and instead of picking up a soda with the bad sugar in it or any other type of drink, drink water. It will be better for your teeth and it has zero calories and of course there is no high fructose corn syrup or added sugar in it.
- Low carbohydrates, high protein= skinny bitch: MYTH and here is why according to most weight loss experts, the benefits of a high-protein, low-carb diet are great but generally short-lived. The second you put down the skinless piece of chicken breast and indulge in mommas loaded mashed potatoes, you've gone back to square one. So instead of cutting carbs from your diet, try focusing on smaller portions for meals and healthier snacks.
- Always stretch before you exercise: MYTH and here is why studies have suggested that stretching actually makes muscles more susceptible to injury. They claim that by stretching, muscle fibers are lengthened and destabilized, making them less prepared for the strain of exercise. So if you are going to go for a run it is a good idea to stretch but if you are lifting weights wait until after to do your stretching.
- You have to sweat to lose weight: MYTH and here is why sweating is just your bodies way of cooling itself. You will still lose weight doing activities such as walking, light weight training, and swimming and you may never break a sweat but you'll still be burning those calories!
- Exercise turns your fat into muscle: MYTH and here is why muscle and fat are two entirely different types of cells. If you exercise yes you will be minimizing your bodies fat content and building more muscle; but it wont be turning from fat into muscle.

I've tried to follow some of these myths before. Yes, they really are myths.
One thing is for sure, if a person wants to stay fit and sexy, she has to know DISCIPLINE and COMMITMENT. Well, she has to eat what is needed by our body and stand for it no matter what tempting food will be served on the table.
